Visited native village Bhaini Mehraj District Barnala on 4th April to organize a field day to show the performance of new wheat varieties to the farmers . The farmers were very happy to see the performance of NEW HIGH YIELDING , CLIMATE RESILIENT AND DISEASE RESISTANT VARIETIES OF WHEAT HI 1653 AND HI 1654 DEVELOPED BY PUSA INSTITUTE . The GSFRED mission is to replace the whole village seed with high yielding and climate resilient varieties developed by the NATIONAL AGRICULTURE RESEARCH SYSTEM . During last Kisan Mela organised at GSFRED RESEARCH CENTRE , KARNAL about 20 progressive farmers from the village participated and took seeds ofDBW 327 , DBW 370 , DBW 371.DBW 372 , PBW 826 and WH 1270 varieties of wheat . In general, all farmers were happy with the performance of new varieties
